With all the hype about all the different social media sites and sharing going on how is IbV going to keep up?
We recently decided to add something to the repertoire of articles being posted.

Right now the IbV team is working on providing fresh new content every week; however, we’ve noticed that we can improve on how to share the information with friends and family. This is where the “Add This” button comes into play. If you have a look at any article or archive there is now a new button called “share” located in the top right. If you hover over the button a host of social networking sites appear. If you’re not a part of any social networking site such as facebook or myspace then that’s fine as there’s a very simply way that you can email the link without signing up for anything. We wanted to place something on the page that wasn’t intrusive. It’s easy to see how some pages on websites get bombarded with outbound links, ads and so-forth. I know we do have some banner ads and now this new social button, however we feel that it suits that site and fits well. The main focus of any article or news page should be the content. And the goal of this button has given us an opportunity to spread our insight through the social circles of all the various social sites. Here’s a list of social sites it currently supports - I had no idea that there’s so many!
(according to their website):
email, favorites, digg, delicious, myspace, google, facebook, reddit, live, aim, aolfav, ask, backflip, ballhype, blinklist, blogmarks, bluedot, buzz, delicious, digg, diigo, email, facebook, favorites, fark, feedmelinks, friendfeed, furl, google, kaboodle, kirtsy, linkedin, live, magnolia, misterwong, mixx, multiply, myweb, myspace,
netvous, newsvine, print, propeller, reddit, segnalo, sharedstuff, slashdot, spurl, stumbleupon, stylehive, tailrank, technorati, thisnext, twitter, yardbarker, yahoobkm, more..
It’s all about sharing the content that you found useful! The goal we originally had in mind hasn’t changed by adding this button. We wanted to provide a way for users to share our information on nutrition, health and fitness in an easy way and spread the word about Inspired By Vanda. With the new button in place people can now quickly send a link to the specific article they were viewing to any social network or by plain email. The “Add This” button seems to be leading the way for sharing material through social networks. They’ve made it convenient to add their code which links all these sites together. The button is stylish, unobtrusive and seems to flow naturally with the content on IbV. We can change which sites that we link the button to however we opted to keep everything for now. We hope that you make use of the new social networking tool and look forward to hearing from your thoughts on it online!
