Vanda retains title at 2009 Ms. Fitness World
Sept. 11th, 2008. Las Vegas, Nevada. For the second straight year, Vanda Hadarean has captured the prestigious Ms. Fitness World title, surpassing twenty-six of the world's most elite fitness competitors. Winning once is challenging enough, but twice in a row is extremely difficult, especially when the competition is seeking to overcome the standard she set the previous year.

Women from all over the world come to Las Vegas, hoping they will be the one to take home the distinction of being crowned Ms. Fitness World. To qualify for the event, Vanda captured her fourth straight Ms. Fitness Canada title, which she has claimed each year since she started competing. Winning nearly every fitness competition she has entered, including a champion title holder in three federations, Vanda has become a truly inspirational fitness leader.
There's no better benchmark for deciding the world's best female fitness competitor than the Ms. Fitness World title. In Europe, the sport of fitness is considerably more main stream than in North America so the competition is very tough. Ukraine especially, has seen some especially strong competitors over the past few years.

At the Las Vegas event, Vanda competed in three distinct rounds of competition to claim the overall title. The competitor with the best overall score earns the crown of Ms. Fitness World. The three rounds of competition include; a bikini round which primarily judges physique, an evening gown round that includes a prepared speech, and of course the routine round, where contestants show off their skills, strength, creativity, endurance and overall poise.
Taking the fitness scene by storm, Vanda presents a package of beauty, strength, talent and poise that is hard to beat. Brian Cannone of Fitness Atlantic remarks, Vanda took fitness competitions to another level. When I think of fitness competitions, I now think of her as setting the bar with the highest standard. There is Vanda, and then there is everyone else. President of Fitness Universe Pageant, Louis Zwick states, Vanda brings to the performance stage, world class skills mixed with elegance and charm fitting an international star.'
So what is the secret of Vanda's tremendous success?
Could it be her years of training as an elite world class gymnast? Well, the strong athletic background certainly helps, however fitness competing involves a variety of different characteristics other than gymnastics. There are several women who incorporate gymnastics into their routine so the success must come from more than just that element.

Is it Vanda's speech that puts her over the top? Although she has improved significantly in the speech round over the past couple years, it is not her true talent. Would it be her poise on stage that brings her such accolades? Vanda's stage presence is definitely one of the best, especially considering her smaller stature at 5'3 tall. But again, that's not the complete answer. Perhaps it is her amazing skill level and grace she demonstrates while competing? Again, there must be more.
The secret to Vanda's remarkable success lies within her - quite simply, the characteristics of Vanda and her passion to be the best. As a young woman, Vanda moved to North America from Romania to improve her life with more opportunity. She came by herself, without friends or family, without knowing the English language, and not even knowing how to use a computer. This move required extraordinary courage for a young lady. Vanda desired change, so she set a goal, focused on it, and made it happen.

Now translate this courageous story to the realm of fitness competition. Vanda made a decision to try competing. She took it seriously and set her goal to become the very best. Staying focused on physical and mental training, she worked extremely hard and was able to succeed in something she had never done before. On the fitness stage, Vanda represents a complete package but you need to look within to see her true strengths.
Vanda has a desire to succeed, so she sets a goal, focuses on it, and makes it happen. Truly Inspirational.
