The best aerobic exercise is the one you are willing to do right now! You will hear me say this often when it comes to any kind exercise, JUST START. The key is to move and move often, making it a lifestyle that transforms you as a person from the inside out.
When it comes to aerobic exercise, if you don’t like what you are doing and if it becomes too boring then the chances are you will not continue. You need to find multiple aerobic activities and exercises that you can look forward to

doing. Personally, I love the elliptical machine as it gives me a great overall body workout. It is also easier on my joints which is important to me. The goal now is to find alternatives you can do on a regular basis and throw in some options once in a while to keep you interest level up.
The next thing to prepare mentally for is the fact that this should not be considered a chore or just exercise. Think of it as healthy living with a lot of benefits. This has now become part of your new and improved lifestyle.
Aerobic activity is a must, there’s no room for argument there. It’s right up there with good nutrition and strength training. They are all important and the sooner they are all part of your lifestyle the sooner you will reap the benefits. I strongly preach and teach all three with all my clients.
Here are a few tips that might help you succeed:
Invest in a portable music player and add the music that motivates you to move.
Try something new today. Eg. Never skated before, well today is the day to learn and have fun.
Surround yourself with people that train aerobically as well and feed off of their motivation. We are all inspired by the people around us in one way or another.
Or the direct opposite would be to use this aerobic time as a time just for you to escape the stress of work, or just think of things that are important and focus on them.
Invest in good aerobic equipment and schedule time on it multiple times throughout your week.
Set an aerobic goal such as a marathon, joining a sports team, or just making it around the block without stopping. Start small and record your progress.
