Spring is here and many of you are excited to get outside and exercise. It is yet another opportunity to set new goals or follow up on the health and fitness goals you set for the New Year. We love the sunshine, fresh air and breaking out of our homes that have been our sanctuary all winter long.
Before you go rushing out the door for your exercise, remember that your overall health is more important than burning a few calories. Unless you have been very active all winter long, you should remember to take it slow. The last thing you

want is to overdo it the first few times out and get injured. Remember it’s not summer yet and the colder spring air makes it harder for your body to warm up and respond quicker. It also makes breathing more difficult. The bottom line here is, it’s better safe than sorry.
Go on, start walking, jogging and running and enjoy the sun, enjoy the birds, and I promise you will feel happier, stronger and healthier in no time. Make this time You Time! Spring into Action! Before long your pace will be picking up and you will feel great and your confidence will soar.
This week is a great week to make a promise to you and to me. Make a promise to improve your health and fitness levels for a healthier, leaner, sexier you! Whatever your spring activity is, I would love to hear how you are doing and how you are feeling.
Hints for your spring into action: a) Have a goal and stick to itb) Record your progressc) Remember a great base involves strength training, cardio and proper nutritiond) A proper warm up will activate your muscles, so try to get warm before you engage in strenuous activitye) If you are a walker, jogger, or runner, try and stay away from polluted areas including busy streets (the pollution could be do you more harm than your activity does you good)f) Sunscreen is another important factor, if you want to protect your skin
g) Try and stay warm, the sunshine might fool you into believing it’s warmer than it really ish) Stay safe by progressing appropriately, however, results come when you push it hard take your training to another leveli) If you are doing outdoor activity at night, please wear some kind of reflective clothing or have lights on your bikej) Mix up your activity to keep boredom awayk) If you haven’t tried using music when you exercise, you might be surprised how upbeat music can help motivate you to move
