Focus on Good Form for Safety and Results
Good form during your exercising should never be ignored. Getting injured due to bad form is quite simply a pain. I see it time and time again, people are either ignorant of good form, or they just ignore it and pay the price of injury.

The most occurring example of poor form comes when people try to lift too heavy of a weight. I know you want to get results quick, and I know that you want to push yourselves. However, an injury is not worth it. Instead of putting so much emphasis on how much, learn to put more emphasis on how. Another occurring bad habit is lifting too long and your form starts to sacrifice when you are tired. Quick fix; have a back up weight ready to go so that you can switch it when your form starts to suffer.

Good form will help you keep safe and it will get you great results. If you are truly focusing on doing a good job with your reps, then you are focusing on good form and the muscles in use. Your posture, breathing, and concentration of the working muscles will all be working together to perform that perfect rep. Bad form equals bad focus. Why do great athletes get great results? They are focused on the job at hand. If you are focused on the muscles in play, then you will be using them more wisely during your exercising, and that in turn will develop those muscles safely and efficiently.

When you are using good posture and good form during your workouts, your muscles are in balance and your body is symmetrical. If you have to struggle and change your posture during your exercise, which means there is a lack of strength, lower the weight and focus on form. Working on your core muscles will dramatically help you maintain posture and form throughout your workouts. As your core strength builds, you will feel much more solid in your form and your chances of injury will lower.

Three words that come to my mind when I think of good form are: Safety, Efficiency, and Health. Safety and efficiency I have touched on already, however overall health due to great posture, which is aided by good form, will have you feeling like a million bucks. If your posture is good then that in turn will aid your nerves, bones, muscles, and over all wellness. Think of how quick you can start to feel bad when you sit in an office chair wrong.

I DO NOT want to see you get injured when exercising, so do not be ignorant regarding proper form of your exercises, and learn to stay focused on the muscles you are working. I highly recommend that you start with a great foundation of core strength and build from there. I simply want you to be able to stay safe and continue on your path to your health and fitness goals.
